Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, situated in the heart of Lucknow, is a prominent healthcare institution serving the people of Uttar Pradesh for several decades. As healthcare needs and standards evolve, there is a growing demand for modernization and expansion of the hospital's facilities to meet the increasing patient load and provide state-of-the-art healthcare services. The decision to increase the MBBS Seats from 150 to 200 further fueled this need to expand and increase the number of beds in the hospital.
Under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Soniya Nityanand as Director, the hospital grappled with a truly daunting challenge—a severe shortage of space that threatened to thwart the monumental task of accommodating the exponentially growing demand for beds, all within the confinements of the existing site.
We (C&G) along with Mukesh & Associates have been awarded the project as design consultants for the medical planning and interior architectural design and engineering of the Hospital. The challenge here is to create healing, stress free but stimulating, patient centric, well-engineered spaces in a large and complex building while balancing the old vs New and also phasing the construction so that the hospital doesn't stop running.
We are hopeful that we would have contributed to realizing a health care facility which would be central to the entire region in the years to come
